Use it as a reading aid.

Effective 27 August 2026

Short version: The core reader is free. The US$9 Echo Pack is a one-time license for pronunciation presets and optional browser sync. Code Echo is assistive software, not a medical device or diagnosis.

Using Code Echo

You may use Code Echo to read code and technical text you are permitted to view. Do not use it to violate another person’s rights or bypass access controls. The software is provided under the MIT License.

What it is—and is not

Code Echo is a selective reading aid. It does not replace a full screen reader, professional accessibility assessment, medical advice, or dyslexia diagnosis. Speech availability and pronunciation quality depend partly on your browser and operating system.

Echo Pack purchase

The Echo Pack costs US$9 as a one-time purchase and unlocks the listed JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Git pronunciation presets plus optional settings sync. Accessibility essentials—including selection reading, punctuation controls, custom pronunciations, themes, chunk size, replay, and history—remain free.

Licenses and refunds

A license is for one purchaser and may be restored on that purchaser’s devices. Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record and handles checkout and refunds. A refund, chargeback, expired entitlement, or abuse may revoke the paid license; revocation never disables the free reader.

Availability and warranty

We aim to keep the extension useful and compatible with current Chrome releases, but websites, browser APIs, and voices change. The software is provided “as is,” without warranties, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Changes and contact

Material changes will update the date above. Questions can be sent to support@sociobot.in.
